An important and high profile 6 month project role has arisen for a Manager, Governance & Policy to join our newly created Governance & Conduct team, located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD officeReporting to the Senior Manager, Governance & Policy, this role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of a policy framework with a view to simplify and improve effectiveness and make accessible.The role will need to challenge existing practices and look to best practice to enable the organisation to improve practices. 

Key Role Objectives

  • Scope and plan work required to deliver on policy review.
  • Work with project office to develop a detailed project and resource plan.
  • Conduct policy research and analysis to review and draft policies and related documents to ensure compliance.
  • Implement the Group Corporate Rules Framework in Allianz Australia.
  • Research and house existing policies in the organisation.
  • Identify and prioritise key policies as per RGSA for review and rationalisation.
  • Categorise policies, e.g. key policies, policies, standards and procedures
  • Rationalise policies and uplift governance to develop efficiency, evaluate focus on risk and better inform decision making.
  • Work closely with business leads to align the group risk framework and rationalise policies agrees the organisation and in business and support units.
  • Develop resources and templates to support business and drive organisational change.
  • Establish policy record keeping protocols and determine system, eg intranet.
  • Make policies accessible and develop a communication plan.Establish BAU protocols and process for ongoing policy maintenance and review.
  • Understand market best practice.

About You

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience as a high achiever in a similar policy or strategy role.  Ideally you will have experience within insurance or financial services.  You will possess the following skills:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a legal, risk, compliance, governance, economic advisory or HR advisory role
  • Previous experience in a policy or strategy role
  • Experience with developing policy frameworks and policy design
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, law or similar
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
