Senior Strategy Advisor – Sydney CBD – 12 Month Full Time

We are looking for a Senior Strategy Advisor to join the team at Allianz on a Full Time Temporary basis in the Sydney CBD. Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy, you will assume a key role within the Strategy & Transformation team and be directly responsible for the development of strategies at business unit, divisional, and corporate level as well as providing advice and support to senior management including strategy implementation and strategic planning.

The Senior Strategy Advisor will see you bring an in-depth familiarity with strategy frameworks and tools ideally obtained at a top management consulting firm. Superior strategic and financial analysis skills as well as experience with developing strategies for complex organisations and providing advice to senior management are a must.

Other key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Analysing competitors, customers and markets including financial analysis, market potential estimates, and scenario modelling to produce competitive and market intelligence 
  • Leading and contributing to the development of strategies for Allianz on a business unit, divisional, and overall corporate level including the creation of fact packs, opportunity maps and the assessment of strategic options
  • Conducting business diagnostics and capability assessments in close collaboration with business owners and their teams including the generation of strategy maps and capability roadmaps
  • Contributing to the annual strategic planning process, facilitating the process including coaching, quality review/control, consolidating business unit and divisional input, and enabling production of overall output

It is expected you will possess experience and skills including:

  • Superior analytical skills including strategic analysis and financial analysis
  • In-depth familiarity with strategy frameworks and tools
  • Experience with developing and reviewing strategies in complex, multi-layered organisations
  • Experience with corporate planning and providing advice to senior management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills incl. providing advice
  • Knowledge and experience in the General Insurance industry
  • Tertiary qualification in business and finance, Master of Commerce/MBA highly regarded
