Reporting into Senior Manager Risk and Compliance, the Risk & Compliance Manager with an Assurance focus is responsible for leading and/or conducting control assurance reviews to provide management with assurance on the effectiveness of internal control environment across the Commercial division. This is an ideal opportunity to join a stable, supportive and high performing team in a large complex division.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Conducting control assurance testing in accordance with the divisonal quarterly assurance plan.
  • Contribute to the coaching and review of test sheets by junior staff and agency risk and compliance officers to strengthen the testing quality and ensuring its timely completion.
  • Contribute to the planning of the divisional yearly assurance plan.
  • Acting as an advisor on risk and compliance matters and guiding management in developing action plans to address current/emerging business risks and incidents. Communication of relevant risk management information to increase awareness of robust risk management practices.
  • Supporting in the preparation of risk and compliance reports and certifications.

Important to your success:

  • Experience in risk, governance, compliance, internal or external audit within the Insurance, Financial Services industry and/or a large professional services firm with Financial Services exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and/or conducting control assurance testing, management of stakeholders and agreeing recommendations with the business stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the risk management principles and processes, risk and controls analysis and the three lines of defence model.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to independently manage and influence internal relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, combined with a curious and creative mind-set.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
