Due to our continued investment in capacity and capability within second line risk management, a unique and diverse permanent opportunity has arisen to join our growing Risk Management team as Senior Manager, Risk in Change.  Joining us during a period of transition and change you will be a key member of the team that is responsible for the implementation of a clear and consistent framework for identifying, assessing and managing risks associated with change initiatives, including Business Strategy initiatives, business transformation programs, and emerging risks.  

Reporting to the Head of Risk in Change and Risk Culture, you will support by providing second line review and challenge to the business on key projects, transformation programs and strategic initiatives. The team is also responsible for providing expert risk advice and business support for embedding a strong risk culture across the organisation and for the alignment of risk management with the business strategy.  This includes identifying strategic risks, projects risks and indicators of a strong risk culture.  

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation of a consistent approach to the identification, assessment and management of risks associated with key change initiatives.
  • Identify current and emerging risks relating to strategic risks.
  • Provide key inputs into the annual Top Risk Assessment process and contribute in stakeholder meetings relating to strategic risks. 
  • Provide expert risk advice to first line on risk assessments for key change projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of a program of activities to promote risk awareness, accountability for the managing of risks and risk training for first line. Facilitate risk assessments for the promotion of risk culture in decision making. 
  • Providing specialist technical risk advice on risk in change and embedding a strong risk culture
  • Provide support to other members of the broader Risk Management team, as appropriate 

To be considered for this role you should possess:

  • Minimum 3-5 years financial services experience at a management level in a risk management function ideally with insurance exposure
  • Tertiary education in Commerce, Business, Economics, Finance or Law
  • Deep understanding of risk management concepts and frameworks
  • Experience with identification, assessment and management frameworks for managing strategic riskUnderstanding of risk analytics and qualitative and quantitative risk measures
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders with potentially conflicting interests
  • Analytical skills and a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
