Claims Technical Support Lead - Club Marine

We are currently seeking a Claims Technical Support Lead who will provide the Claims team with marine mechanical or marine hull technical support, to assist in the delivery of customer service and efficient claims management. This role will act as a technical referral point for claims staff, supporting development of technical claims knowledge and dealing with technical disputes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Motivate, coach and develop claims staff to achieve efficient technical claims decisions.
  • Identify relevant technical training needs for the claims unit Participate in the design and delivery of technical training programmes.
  • Monitor and appraise claims officer loss performance
  • Deal with complex technical claims decisions, within authority limits.
  • Act as a technical referral and escalation point for the resolution of claims referrals Seek and maintain relevant industry knowledge.
  • Proactively manage own portfolio of complex or desktop assessed claims

Ideally you will possess:

  • Strong marine mechanical or hull technical operational experience (in office or workshop) and industry knowledge.
  • Experience with engagement at customer level and service workshop level, or within a claims team.
  • Strong written & reporting skills when producing claims documentation e.g. letter and report writing.
  • Highly developed communications and stakeholder management skills .
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
