Who are we?

The Underwritten Workers Compensation and Distribution business is responsible for the underwriting, sales and claims management for workers compensation in the risk states (NT, WA, TAS, ACT and Seafarers). Our National Claims Team provides support and assistance to risk-state based employers, managing claims in these jurisdictions as well as being involved in Excess of Loss, Reinsurance and Dust Disease liabilities.

The role:

We are looking for a driven and dedicated case manager to join our National Claims Team! You will be exposed to a portfolio of workers compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions. This is an exciting and unique role and would suit someone who is keen on pursuing a career in insurance, with initial and ongoing training and genuine opportunities for career progression.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Interpretation and application of various legislation and regulations
  • Assessment of injuries including reviewing medical reports and surgical requests
  • Assessment of damages and negotiation of settlements
  • Provision of instructions to legal counsel
  • Liaising with key external stakeholders including brokers, insureds, solicitors, doctors and claimants
  • Developing strategies to progress matters towards resolution
  • Assisting in the retention of major clients by providing outstanding customer service
