Allianz is looking for an experienced Actuary to join a team of driven and enthusiastic Actuaries and Analysts supporting the Workers' Compensation division. In this role, you will assist the underwritten workers' compensation with reserving, pricing, budgeting, reporting and ongoing analytical and actuarial support. 

Your highly developed analytical and problem solving skills will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to the team and the company.

The responsibilities of your role will include:

  • Assisting with the annual insurance liability valuation report (ILVR) for the Underwritten Workers' Compensation division, and with regular reserving reviews conducted throughout the year
  • Assisting with the determination of premium rates for the Underwritten Workers' Compensation division, including monitoring of portfolio performance throughout the year
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process
  • Providing performance reporting and analytics to the Underwritten Workers' Compensation division
  • Providing cross jurisdictional insights to the Workers' Compensation executive on a regular basis
  • Communicating the results of analysis to a number of stakeholders, including Workers' Compensation Management (both Claims and Underwriting), Finance and the Appointed Actuary
  • Assisting with other actuarial projects undertaken by the team
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service , building and maintaining strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing guidance, support and mentoring to Actuarial Analysts within the team

To be considered and successful for this role you must have:

  • A degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or Finance
  • Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in General Insurance, with Workers' Compensation or Accident Compensation experience preferred
  • Strong technical, analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong SAS, MS Excel and VBA skills
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional customer service
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and ‎prioritise your work, whilst working in a fast paced environment

A background in in workers' compensation or accident compensation will be viewed favourably.
