About the Role:

Reporting into the Manager, Dispute Resolutions, the Dispute Resolution Consulting will be responsible to undertake reviews of disputed claims files and to represent AAL at external Dispute Resolution schemes that are in line with AAL's principles and in accordance with AAL's legal requirements. In this role, you will also be responsible for responding to all Claims' disputes (IDR and EDR) in accordance with SLA's KPI's and GICOP, management of dispute files to finalisation and delivering industry best practices by developing a rapport with customers, addressing the customers' concerns and providing reasons for the decisions made in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities of the role include and you will ensure that:

  • Develop working relationships with internal stakeholders that facilitates an open discussion of matters and provides assistance and support when required. 
  • Review all disputes to ensure the final decision is in line with AAL's principles, the PDS, policy limits and legal requirements.    
  • Utilising the different AFCA Dispute Process, resolve AFCA matters at earliest possible stage and at lowest AFCA fee
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording and data entry as required and that all disputes are handled within GICOP, legislative requirements and in line with internal policies/procedures
  • Identify and undertake activities that either:  leads to an decrease in disputed decisions, improves the claims process or increases Claim management knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Appropriate professional qualification or undertaking a tertiary qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience in conflict resolutions and negotiation skills and the ability to interperate and apply policy wording to factual scenarios
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of claims together with a working understanding of Claim Denial Process
