Due to our continued investment in Line 1 Risk & Compliance resources, Allianz Australia has a new opportunity for you to join our Retail and Distribution Division.  Reporting to the Senior Risk and Compliance Manager, the Risk & Compliance Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying effective risk management strategies to promote a strong and efficient internal control environment across the division. 

The role will perform data/information analysis to assist with providing meaningful information to ensure current and emerging risks are appropriately identified, assessed and monitored.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and increase awareness of risk management and compliance
  • Provide analysis of thematic risk and compliance issues arising from control self-assessment results, compliance incidents/breaches, risk incidents, operational losses, etc. Escalate incidents/breaches to relevant stakeholders
  • Partner with different divisions and act as an advisor on risk and compliance matters. Develop action plans to address current/emerging risk and compliance issues in conjunction with business
  • Implement appropriate reports (e.g. dashboard) and ongoing reporting on risk and compliance performance
  • Assist in preparing for risk workshops including maintaining relevant documentation
  • Assist in implementing a Line 1 control assurance program

To be considered for this role you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in data analysis/science, risk management and/or compliance
  • At least 2-3 years' work experience as an analyst, auditor or in a risk/compliance role
  • An understanding of the risk management principles, risk management processes, risk and controls analysis and the 3 lines of defence model
  • Strong data analytical skills to convert risk and incident data into meaningful management information
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytical tools and software (SAS, excel, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferable, although not essential
