About the Role:

Our newly appointed and dynamic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is currently seeking a Strategic Projects & Governance Manager (SPGM) to join the HR Leadership team. Reporting into and working closely with the (CHRO), you will be responsible for a range of initiatives, including the coordination of strategic projects and management of all HR Board papers through to the preparation of key presentations to various executive committees. Your previous experience working across interdepartmental and divisional functions, together with strong communication and stakeholder management skills will see you achieving and succeeding in the requirements of the position.

About the role and your responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CHRO Executive Assistant on all matters relating to the running of Human Resources Executive office
  • Participate as a member of the Human Resources SLT and as a senior member of the CHRO's office and ensure the efficient co-ordination of the Human Resources team as it relates to strategic initiatives and projects
  • Provide support to the CHRO to ensure that the CHRO remains focused on delivering key strategic initiatives and supporting the Managing Director's key people priorities
  • Have a forward view of major deliverables for the Human Resources team and the CHRO for two quarters in advance and ensure that the requirements for these deliverables are managed in a timely fashion and to an exacting standard
  • Prepare and/or coordinate briefing notes for the CHRO on key issues or meetings together with briefing notes for the Managing Director or Board Members on key meeting points and issues on behalf of Human Resources, key reports and presentations to the SMT and Board on behalf of Human Resources and the CHRO
  • Challenge the assumptions and metrics/numbers behind Human Resources scorecards and reports to ensure that Human Resources remains on track to deliver key commitments
  • Manage strategic projects across Human Resources teams including but not limited to frameworks or business models, restructuring, or business reviews.

 What we're looking for:

  • Solid experience in a similar or related role together with Undergraduate degree in business or a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated project management and delivery experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and interpersonal skills, Superior verbal, written & presentation communication skills  
  • Numeracy skills and an ability to interpret management and Board reports, distil complex information and provide insights
  • Understanding of human resources concepts, processes and governance
  • Strong executive presence and confidence in dealing with senior leaders across the organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in solving complex business issues with the balance of strategic thinking and pragmatism
