Senior Manager, Risk Advisory (Capital Adequacy and Insights)

Due to our continued investment in our second line risk management capability and capacity a unique newly created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manager, Risk Advisory (Capital Adequacy and Insights) to work in the Risk Advisory and Business Partnering team located in our CBD Market Street office.

This role is a key business partner to the first line Capital Management team and is responsible for providing second line review and challenge of the internal capital adequacy assessment process and the capital models used by Allianz.  It is critical to support the first line risk and compliance officers in developing methodologies and tool to manage risks associated with capital adequacy.  The role is also responsible for providing key risk insights by using risk analytics across all risk types.

Key Role Objectives:

  • Support the implementation of a consistent approach to the identification and assessment of key risks, with a focus on risks associated with capital management across all risk types. 
  • Provide expert risk advice to first line on risk assessments.
  • Support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework across the organisation with a primary focus on providing risk insights supported by risk analytics.
  • Support the implementation of a program of activities to promote risk awareness, accountability for the managing of risks and risk training for first line. Facilitate risk assessments for the promotion of risk culture in decision making. 
  • Providing specialist technical risk advice on risks to capital adequacy
  • Provide support to other members of the broader Risk Management team, as appropriate

About You:

The successful applicant will be an inquisitive and results driven individual and possess the following experience and skills:

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in risk management within financial services ideally with insurance industry knowledge
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of risk management concepts and frameworks
  • Experience with identification, assessment and management frameworks for risks to capital adequacy
  • Understanding of risk analytics and qualitative and quantitative risk measures
