Due to a secondment for one of our finance team members an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to be appointed within our Reporting, Analytics and Planning (RAP) team, located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office.

Reporting to the Manager - Management Reporting, this role will be responsible for the production of monthly reports and presentations for Group, Business, Board and Executive.  In this role, your strong analytical skills, industry knowledge and business acumen are critical as you will be a key contributor in the reporting and analysis of financial results, which will lead to key business decisions.

This role will play a pivotal part in the monthly reporting process, analysis and presentation of financial results to the Board, Executives and Group.  Other key focus areas will include delivery of effective expense management, planning and forecasting.  

This role will provide a great opportunity to engage as a true business partner with a strong understanding of general insurance principles and a distinct ability to analyse and visualise data for business insights and for the right candidate may offer people leadership opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the production of monthly management, group and executive financial reports
  • Assist the business with preparation and submission of annual plans and forecasts
  • Analysis and commentary of current and past financial information
  • Investigate current performance and identify trends
  • Responsible for competitor and industry analysis
  • Provide critical analysis review & commentary
  • Responsible for effective staff management including resourcing, objective setting and appraisals

About You:

The successful applicant will be an accomplished and results driven Senior Finance Analyst, possessing the following experience and skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in management accounting
  • A strong understanding of the general insurance sector
  • Experience in statistical analysis, visualisation and presentation
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and report on data patterns and performance
  • Knowledge of SAP and TM1 would be highly regarded
  • High level stakeholder engagement skills, with a consultative ‘business partnering' approach.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office Excel and Powerpoint
  • CA or CPA qualification would be highly desirable.
