About the Role:

Allianz is looking for a Strategic Alliance Manager to join our Retail Distribution (RDD) team with responsibility for our relationship with National Australia Bank (NAB) and Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).  Reporting into the General Manager Financial Institutions, this role is responsible for all aspects of the NAB and HSBC relationship.

This role is responsible for strengthening the on-going health and profitability of both our NAB and HSBC relationships.  It involves setting and achieving challenging goals for the distribution of Allianz products through existing channels, and identifying and driving implementation of new customer solutions that align to changing customer preferences that leverage data, digital and D2C to outperform in the relationship.

As a senior leader you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the broader RDD FI strategic plan as a member of the FI senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Develop and implement effective Key Account Management Strategy, in order to successfully manage business relationships and achieve budgeted targets
  • Optimise existing business models, in particular develop thought leadership, strategy and recommendations for distribution models
  • Accelerating the use of digital to acquire and service customers
  • Strengthen the on-going health and profitability of Partners (NAB & HSBC) relationships
  • Setting and achieving challenging goals for the distribution of Allianz products through existing channels
  • Identifying and driving implementation of opportunities
  • Ensuring all contractual obligations with Partners (NAB & HSBC) are met
  • Developing and implementing new sales opportunities with Partners (NAB & HSBC)
  • Leading the internal alliance team

To be considered for this role you should possess:

  • Demonstrated success profitably managing a complex portfolio of accounts
  • Demonstrated success in driving change in the Financial Institutions industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk and compliance obligations in the insurance industry
  • Strong people leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high performing team
  • Superior stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate successful outcomes
  • Commercial and pragmatic outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to present to senior executives and Boards
