Allianz Australia, Broker and Agency Division are dynamic, innovative and ‎successful. The Broker & Agency division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel whose customers include state based, national and international broker groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the State Manager, the Underwriting Operations Manager will lead and manage the Underwriting Team to provide professional underwriting services to our Account Managers and Brokers.

About the role:

  • Develop and implement effective controls to ensure compliance obligations are met whilst having a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a strong  focus on renewal retention and an adaptable, responsive approach to new business
  • Drive a strong partnership between the Underwriting and Account Management teams, to collaborate on achieving profitable growth targets.
  • Lead, coach and support Underwriting team to ensure the branch financial and non-financial targets are met and overall management of local Underwriting team.
  • Contribute to the design of new systems, processes and procedures with a view of implementing world class underwriting functions.
  • Oversee monitoring of productivity / service standards across renewals, new business, endorsements and loss control key metrics
  • Work closely with Risk and Compliance CoEs to ensure Distribution meet Allianz compliance framework

About you:

  • Proven leadership experience with a background in leading, developing and coaching others.
  • Extensive experience in underwriting management demonstrating exposure to both commercial and corporate risks
  • A strong background and understanding of the General Insurance market
  • Proven ability to embed best practice processes and monitor to ensure ongoing success
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to identify and take the high level and detailed approach based on various situations.
