A unique and rare senior opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Reporting, Planning & Analysis team.  Located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office this is a key leadership opportunity for a strategic and innovative finance professional who equally doesn't mind being hands on.

Reporting to the Group Manager RAP the Senior Finance Business Partner will be responsible for partnering with the IT department.  Working closely with the CIO and the IT leadership team you will oversee finance deliverables for the IT department including analysis and insights linking financial reporting to business strategies.  By providing insights and analysis on business issues and strategy you will be a key component of business decision making and a true partner to the IT division.

Whilst managing a team of two, this role is key to the success of our 2025 strategy and underpins the exciting transformation projects and change journey we are currently on. 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be technically financially strong with exceptional influencing skills and a proven stakeholder engagement capability to enable them to deliver on the following role objectives:

  • Act as the key point of contact between Finance and IT, fostering effective working relationships with senior business stakeholders
  • Proactively contribute to the future direction of business processes and strategy within IT
  • Work with the IT leadership team to prepare forecasts and business plans; challenge content and enhance transparency
  • Provide advice and support to business unit (including CIO) on financial management and key decision making
  • Promote inclusive decision making, teamwork and collaboration to optimise team and individual performance
  • Coach, mentor, develop staff including new employee on boarding and career development planning
  • Oversee preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Monthly IT reporting to the business unit and management
  • Quarterly IT reporting to Allianz Group
  • Monthly reporting for project related to IT spend
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of annual IT Plans and quarterly forecasts
  • Provide critical analysis, review and commentary
  • Prepare presentation/summary of the key activities and profit drivers to present to key stakeholders

 About You:

The successful applicant will be a proven business partner having worked with an IT business unit previously through a period of transition or change.  You will be technically strong with a passion for driving change and innovation as well as possessing the following experience and skills:

  •  CA or CPA qualified
  • 7-10 years post qual experience in a similar business partnering role with significant management reporting capabilities
  • General Insurance of Financial Services experience
  • IFRS and AGAAP exposure and experience necessary
  • Proven track record of promoting innovation and change through automation, standardisation and system optimisation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast passed and complex environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication
