An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Communications Specialist - Intermediated to be appointed within our Market Management division, based in our Sydney CBD office. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Internal Communications, the Intermediated Communications Specialist is responsible for the execution of internal communication activities designed to create engagement and resonance with the Allianz brand and strategy and employee value proposition, focusing specifically on the Broker & Advisory, Workers Compensation and Retail Distribution Division (RDD).

This role plays a key part in supporting the People and Brand pillars of Market Management's strategic objectives, and supports the delivery of internal communications for Allianz Australia Limited. 

This role will initially be hired on an 18 month fixed term contract, as cover for a team member who is currently on an internal secondment. 

About the Role:

Working in close partnership with the General Managers and Technical (Product Manager) teams for these business units, and leveraging insights, analytics and customer experience from across Market Management, the successful applicant will plan communications strategies and develop content for public relations, lead generation, campaign creation, social media and brand awareness purposes.

The role supports integrated PR campaigns and develops compelling story arcs that address key brand and reputation measures for the intermediated businesses. They are accountable for product and thought leadership content (including presentations, industry insights, product information updates and white papers) - tailoring the content, style and delivery channel depending on the business model and product portfolio.

The successful applicant will deliver the following role responsibilities and objectives:

  • Support the execution of a of a cohesive internal communications strategy that builds engagement and resonance with staff, connecting employees to Allianz strategy and building pride in the organisation
  • Ensure a consistent ‘voice' across Allianz in internal communication channels
  • Develop and deliver professional, informative, engaging and innovative internal communications events, including managing logistics, that will drive and support enterprise-wide strategy and corporate messages
  • Partner with HR and other stakeholders in the execution and management of employee engagement strategies within Allianz, with a specific focus on building awareness, understanding and engagement with the Allianz brand and strategy
  • Promote white papers, points-of-view of key regulatory, policy, industry and community issues internally
  • Review and edit communication material e.g., engagement survey results
  • Design and drive corporate messages and support organisational culture by delivering engaging and effective communications through a broad range of channels appropriate to the audience.
  • Support and execute all internal communications for transformation and change management initiativesSupport Senior Manager, Internal Communications to partner with Senior Manager, Corporate Communications to align internal messaging with external messaging, contributing to relevant industry awards (globally but with a focus on Australia)
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and support Group Manager, Communications to work with stakeholders to implement recommendations for internal communications strategies and channels
  • Write, edit and proofread communication and thought-leadership material in formats including internal and customer-facing emails and newsletter content and intranet articles
  • Support the Communications team to deliver both internal and external communications initiatives and projects as needed
  • Collaborate across Communications and Market Management to deliver solutions to stakeholders that maximise the value of the Market Management function
  • Actively partner with business stakeholders to understand their business challenges and opportunities and to ensure that Market Management is represented to the highest standard across Allianz and contributes strategic value

About You:

The successful applicant will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills to understand Allianz's internal communications requirements
  • Strong focus on leader communication to improve ownership and cascading of information among senior leaders and across their teams
  • Experience in identifying staff engagement opportunities to further drive pride in the organisation and a unified culture across the Allianz Australia business
  • The ability to partner across functions to embed strategically aligned communication arcs and story lines across enterprise activity
