About the Role:

We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to become a valued contributor to the success of our capital management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the team in the timely measurement and reporting of Allianz Australia's capital requirements under Australian and European (Solvency II) regimes.

Reporting to the Capital Management Actuary, the successful applicant  will also support a range of activities related to advising the business on capital and risk related decisions.

The successful applicant will manage and deliver the following:

  • Execution of capital model runs, validation and communication of results
  • Performing efficiency and methodology enhancements to the capital model
  • Analytical support of the team's evaluation of capital impacts of various strategic business decisions.
  • Operation of Economic Scenario Generator model in support of capital modelling activities
  • Liaison with Allianz Group head office colleagues in relation to Solvency II reporting deliverables.

About You:

The successful applicant will be able to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders such as actuaries, accountants, product managers and external consultants and will possess the following:

  • 2-5 years of relevant corporate experience preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Mathematics/Statistics, Commerce or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to tight deadlines
  • Previous exposure to accounting principles and understanding of the general insurance industry and products would be advantageous.
