Allianz Australia, Broker and Agency Division are dynamic, innovative and ‎successful. The Broker & Agency division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel whose customers include local, national and international brokers, and buying groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Underwriter to join our team in Perth. Reporting directly to the State Manager, this senior role will be responsible for underwriting property (ISR) accounts in accordance with company Underwriting Guidelines and within delegated authority levels. The Production Underwriter will be required to assist in prospecting and then convert opportunities, through the provision and negotiation of quotations for new business and allocated 'Exception Renewals'.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Take personal responsibility for nominated brokers and also provide back-up support to the broader team where required.
  • Identify profitable new business opportunities and maximise conversion/strike rate of desired business.
  • Effectively manage workflows (New Business, First Year Policy Maintenance, and Exception Renewals and Endorsements etc) to ensure delivery of quality service standards.
  • Underwrite property risks, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards
  • Ensure business bound is aligned with divisional objectives and portfolio balance (growth and profit).
  • Assist in the provision of the property portfolio analysis.
  • Work effectively within a team and those outside immediate area to accomplish organisational goals.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Comprehensive underwriting experience with a wide exposure to Commercial and Corporate risks
  • Property Insurance experience, including reinsurance knowledge
  • Experience in financial and data analysis and process
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and multiple levels
  • The alibility to strategically think and challenge where required
  • Desired: Business/Commerce degree qualifications and/or formal insurance qualifications
