An exciting newly created opportunity has arisen for a market and competitor insights professional to be appointed within our Strategy and Transformation team, located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office.

This role will be responsible for leading the development and distribution of thought leadership, market intelligence  and collateral that provides the organisation with contemporary insights and briefings to support strategic and operational decision-making.

The role works closely with business partners and domain experts, and is responsible for developing and sharing content so that key decision-makers have an understanding of the external perspective, in particular competitor activity, market activity and trends, and strategic risks to the business.

Roles & responsibilities include:

  • Source, review, store, manage and update a relevant “fact base” of market and competitor data and information – including platforms that  assist with the management or self-service of information
  • Maintain regular touchpoints with business partners to understand the customer landscape, priorities and strategic objectives in order to identify content areas of interest
  • Engage with domain experts to research, develop and storyboard content for specific issues
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor content activities through attending industry seminars and workshops and subscribing to relevant journals and websites
  • Develop a culture of actively partnering with business stakeholders to understand their business challenges and opportunities
  • Help interpret what changes in the market landscape could mean for the company - what are the key implications
  • Use the fact base to support (a) strategic decision making both at the enterprise and the divisional levels, and (b) the identification and monitoring of strategic risks.
  • Develop, review and maintain an internal communications plan to share findings and insights on industry trends and competitor activities across the business
  • Role model collaboration across the different divisions of Allianz to deliver solutions to stakeholders that maximise the value of the Market and Competitor Insights function

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Research/Insights, strategy or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years'experience in a similar or related role
  • Strong research, writing and content management skills 
  • Excellent copywriting and editorial skills
  • The ability to understand complex concepts and translate them into easy to understand communications matched to the target audience to increase engagement and understanding
  • Experience in professional services preferred but not essential
  • The ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups at all stages of corporate and business strategy development.
