An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Communications Specialist to be appointed within our Market Management team, located at our Market Street, Sydney office.

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for working alongside all members of the Market Management team to develop and implement a public relations and corporate communications strategy to raise awareness of Allianz Australia and key individuals.  This involves developing strategies in earnt media, producing press releases and media updates, announcing major appointments, liaising with journalists and working to integrate Allianz The content into media channels.

The successful applicant will support the integrated brand sales campaigns and develop compelling story arcs that address key brand and reputation measures for Allianz.  They play a key role in supporting the Thought Leadership, Reputation and Brand pillars of Market Management's strategic objectives. 

The successful applicant will manage the following:

  • Support the development and execution of a cohesive corporate communications strategy that builds engagement and resonance with customers, partners and shareholders, and builds the brand and reputation of Allianz
  • Develop and implement a strategy for ensuring a consistent ‘voice' across Alllianz PR and media channels
  • Provide strategic communication advice and support on external communication including PR and media
  • Identify media opportunities for key spokespeople 
  • Build and maintain mutually valuable relationships between Allianz Australia and the media
  • Manage agency relationships and deliverables
  • Write press releases, articles, research papers and thought leadership commentary to be pitched to external media and published on Allianz Australia's owned media
  • Manage the editorial schedule and direction of a number of external publications including newsletters and microsites ensuring that they are maintained with fresh and insightful content
  • Work closely with other members of the Market Management team to ensure that public relations is fully integrated with wider marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Monitor, analyse and report on public relations results
  • Support the Group Manager, Communications to act as a corporate spokesperson on behalf of Allianz Australia
  • Ensure external communications content risk management through monitoring, identifying and rectifying compliance breaches and educating business stakeholders regarding compliance processes
  • Regularly communicate to stakeholders on key PR and corporate communication initiatives to keep them informed and engaged on the communications agenda
  • Draft press releases associated with corporate communications activities
  • Draft statements associated with any issues management associated with the enterprise's entities
  • Identify, collate and produce content for use in all channels including social
  • Create a communications framework to build stakeholder awareness of the enterprise's corporate social responsibility activities
  • Create a communications strategy to profile the company's executive in the media and to broader stakeholder groups such as industry bodies

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing a public relations and corporate communications strategy to raise awareness of the enterprise and key individuals within chosen markets
  • Experience in developing and executing PR marketing activities that run on time and to budget
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the evolving media landscape
  • Ability to translate complex business and product concepts into media content that engages the audience, drives up reputation and brand, and promotes industry thought leadership
  • Experience writing for digital, social, and print mediums
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the enterprise
