About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Expense Analyst to be appointed within our Finance Division, located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office.

Reporting to the Lead – Expense Management, this role will be responsible for the production of monthly reports and presentations for Group, Local Business, Board and the Executive in a timely and accurate manner.

You will be instrumental in the preparation and analysis of financial information that leads to key business decisions.

The successful applicant will manage and deliver the following:

  • Participate in the monthly reporting process.  Responsible for the production of monthly management, group and executive financial reports.  Review and analyse financial results for insightful commentary.
  • Providing business partnering support for key functions as required
  • Coordinate and prepare expenses forecast and budget.  Assist the business with preparation and submission of annual Plans and Forecasts. Provide critical analysis, review and commentary. 
  • Prepare and post journals for project costs in a timely and accurate manner.  Prepare and distribute project reports including analysis against budget/forecast
  • Analysis of expenditure against Plan/Forecast for costs centres including commentary.
  • Responsible for running the expense allocation process from end to end, including reviewing expense movements and loading expense allocation drivers and statistics. Provide detailed reports of major movements commentary on the key drivers
  • Analysis and commentary of current and past financial information.  Investigate current financial performance and identify trends 

About You:

The successful applicant will be an accomplished and results driven Finance Analyst, possessing the following experience and skills: 

  • Experience in Management or Financial accounting
  • Experience in a statistical analysis and forecasting
  • IFRS and AGAAP experience
  • Knowledge of expense allocations would be highly regarded
  • High level stakeholder engagement skills, with a consultative ‘business partnering' approach.
  • Commerce Degree or equivalent
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and proficiency using TM1 and SAP
  • CA, CPA or CIMA qualification would be highly desirable - either fully or part qualified.
