An exciting interim opportunity has arisen to join our growing Risk & Compliance team as Head of Compliance Regulatory Reporting.  Joining us during a period of transition and change you will lead the investigation, including identification of root cause, of compliance incidents and will strengthen reporting to internal governance committees and external regulators for all Allianz Australia Limited subsidiaries.

The Head of Compliance Regulatory Reporting (HCRR) will be responsible for preparing all reports, agendas and minutes for Incident Management Committee (IMC) meetings and will also prepare all correspondence for notifying and updating regulators where relevant.

As HCRR you will be expected to liaise directly with Divisional Risk and Compliance Officers and Line management to identify quickly identify potential incidents, and determine all action necessary to address control weaknesses. The HCRR will liaise with the Head of Operational Compliance to monitor the adequacy of progress in remediation programs. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting appropriate risk, compliance and governance behaviours by effectively communicating  policies and processes that govern and support efficient, effective and robust breach identification, assessment, remediation  and reporting
  • Providing regular reporting on compliance performance and emerging risk to senior management as identified through the conduct of the IMC meetings
  • The continually review and assess  all compliance incidents notified to Corporate Compliance in the Incident Register
  • Overseeing the effective administration and preparation of IMC meetings, including preparation of all relevant documents,  minute taking and preparing relevant internal and external reports
  • Identification and escalation of  change to Allianz's risk profile emerging from compliance incidents and process control failures
  • Supporting the relevant RCO in assisting business with development of action plans
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and appropriate records of incidents for reporting to Board and other governance forums

To be considered for this role you should possess:

  • Minimum 8-10 years financial services experience at a senior management level in a compliance function ideally with insurance exposure
  • Extensive experience in dealing with regulators on regulatory breach matters and related compliance activity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence to present to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent investigation skills, analytical skills, and root cause analysis
  • Strong problem solving skills  - the ability to take complex information on board, analyse and then present solutions
  • Acute business acumen and influencing skills
