About the Role:

The successful candidate will join a small team of tax professionals working together to ensure that Allianz Australia meets its taxation obligations. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work and communicate with the Allianz business units and related entities both in Australia and New Zealand as well as with its head office in Germany is essential.

We are looking for someone with insurance taxation experience who can research and advise on a broad range of taxation matters including international and local income tax issues, GST, FBT, Stamp Duty and other State levies.

The role will also include ensuring transfer pricing documentation is current and compliant.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing taxation advice to Allianz business units and related entities in both Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ensuring Allianz complies with all tax laws, and that its systems, documentation and procedures are current and that staff are trained
  • Ensuring transfer pricing documentation is compliant and current
  • Researching tax issues as they arise

About You:

The ideal applicant will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • At least 5 years' experience in direct, indirect and international tax gained in either a tax advisory firm or a large business environment
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred but not essential
  • Degrees in Laws or accounting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
  • High level of attention to detail
