An exciting opportunity has become available within Allianz's Internal Audit division for a new Data Analyst to be appointed. 

This role will be appointed on a part time basis working 2 days per week and based in our Market Street, City office.

This role could ideally suit a Graduate or Intern who is completing or has completed tertiary study in a related field, which could include Business, Commerce and Finance courses.  Alternatively the role could also suit an experienced candidate who is returning to work or specifically seeking a part time role

The Data Analyst supports the development and implementation of data analytics practice within the Internal Audit function.  This includes interacting effectively with management to build and maintain ongoing business relationships.

The successful applicant will have the ability to manage multiple projects, whilst meeting business deadlines.

About the Role:

The role will include the following objectives:

  • Extract and interpret data and present information in usable and meaningful dashboards.
  • Assist in the development of a data repository and analytics library.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards.
  • Support the Internal Audit team by performing data analysis, reporting of analytic results and visualisation of audit findings.
  • Support an uplift of data analytics capability and knowledge of Internal Audit team members.
  • Establish sound, strong business relationships while maintaining the independence required from being in the 'third line of defence'.
  • In performance of all work, exercise due professional care and diligence and ensure compliance with local and Allianz Group standards and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) internal audit standards and Code of Ethics.
  • Participate in special engagements, as requested by the business or other stakeholders, ensuring objectives (as determined by the requesting party) are met on a timely basis and value is provided, without impairing audit independence.

About You:

  • Strong intellectual and analytical skills and a good understanding of processes, structures and the regulatory environment.
  • Proficient in programming and the use of data analytic and data mining tools (SQL, SAS, ACL, Python, R)
  • Demonstrated successes as a fast learner with the ability to quickly assess a situation.
  • Ability to generate new insights and ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to deal with all types of personalities.
  • Team spirit, self-motivation and a proactive and committed working style, as well as ability to interact in a global work environment with people from different countries and cultures.
  • Proven command of the English language (verbal and written).
