An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and results-focused Senior Business Analyst to be appointed within Allianz IT division, located at our North Sydney office.

Reporting to the Business Analysis Practise Lead, the key objective for the Senior Business Analyst is eliciting requirements and defining functionality for Allianz's portfolio of programs and projects.

The Senior Business Analyst is the key point of contact for Business Analysis project activity, accountable for exceptional project execution and delivery of outcomes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will deliver the following role objectives and deliverables:

  • Work collaboratively to facilitate communication bringing both business and IT project stakeholders closer
  • Clarify and translate business requirements into documentation and solution designs using appropriate tools and models
  • Actively participate in the project lifecycle and work closely with a variety of internal and external business stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are understood, documented and delivered in order to achieve the project goals and objectives
  • Conduct peer reviews of documents and models produced by other BA's
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Solution Architects to develop appropriate solutions that meet the business needs
  • Supports the Business Change Lead in the establishment of appropriate change management meetings, documentation, processes, training and communications
  • Actively contribute on initiatives to improve processes and templates integral to the Business Analyst role
  • Work on large, complex, multi-channel or multi system projects
  • Understand, simplify and articulate complex business problems in a way other stakeholders will understand
  • Demonstrate excellence in stakeholder management, engagement and negotiation

About the Ideal Applicant:

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes, skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:                                         

  • Industry knowledge with regard to insurance products and processes for different channels and divisions
  • Strong Business Process Management experience
  • Knowledge, application and implementation of SDLC methodologies
  • Understanding of Project Management methodologies
  • Analysing, defining and documenting business and functional requirements
  • Concise and comprehensive, written & verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Good problem analysis and resolution technique and risk management
  • Strong customer service focus

 Desirable Criteria 

  • Under graduate degree in IT, Business or related discipline
  • Agile and UML experience
  • Understanding of, or trained in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
