This position presents a unique opportunity for a customer focused individual to join Allianz Australia as it is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. The Retail Distribution Division (RDD) distributes a $2.7B portfolio of general and life insurance products to consumers and small businesses across Australia. 

The Senior Strategy Analyst is a key role within RDD reporting directly to the Senior Portfolio Director. This role is responsible for supporting strategy development and strategic planning for the RDD division and business units, as well as providing advisory support to the RDD LT. 

This is an exciting opportunity to have exposure at a senior level and to contribute to developing the divisional strategy for one of Australia's largest general insurers. This opportunity would suit candidates with high levels of curiosity and strong problem solving and communication skills. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Contributing to the development of the overarching Retail Distribution divisional strategy
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop key inputs into the business unit and channel strategies
  • Supporting the annual strategic planning cycle within the Retail Distribution Division
  • Support prioritisation decisions to ensure effective execution of the divisional strategy
  • Development of financial models for the purpose of evaluating strategic choices and assessing market opportunities
  • Supporting the preparation for Retail Distribution Strategy offsites
  • Contributing to the preparation of reports for the Divisional Management Team, Executive, Board Committees and the Board 

Key requirements of the role include: 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a corporate or consulting environment, including 3 years' experience in strategy formulation and strategic planning with a top tier consulting firm or an in-house strategy team within a large corporate
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills
  • In-depth knowledge of strategy frameworks and tools and the ability to effectively frame and solve strategic problems
  • Ability to manage key stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to present strategic recommendations professionally and credibly to influence outcomes
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Finance are mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience in Financial Services would be highly regarded
