Data Warehouse Analyst

  • System development, enhancements and assists with overall system design, testing and implementation

At Allianz our Information Technology (IT) Division is located in a state of the art activity based working environment. The design brings our  IT employees together in a spacious North Sydney office and creates a central, sustainable working environment. As a Data Warehouse Analyst you will be responsible for system development and/or enhancements and assists with overall system design, testing and implementation together with the responsibility of ensuring that all stakeholders are trained to a competent level.

Further, the Data Warehouse Analyst assist Clients and the Business in effectively utilising computing  and other resources to maximise benefits and minimise costs as well as providing technical support to end users in risk management system related matters

Other duties in this role include:

  • Manage expectations by understanding customer needs, and offering solutions that are complete, easily understood, timely, and mutually satisfying.
  • Contribute to the Allianz Experience - ensure a positive customer experience every time, by delivering excellence in products, operations, and behaviours.
  • Assist with estimation, resource planning, prioritisation, risk and contingency management.
  • Implement AP related deliverables in line with business needs - to requirements, to schedule, to budget.
  • Timely investigation of problems, and provide support from diagnosis through to implementation of respective FIX.
  • Provide support as required for scheduled and unscheduled outages, during core and non-core business hours.
  • Ensure IT Policy and SDLC compliance during all stages of the deliverables process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording, updates, and completion of administrative related activities.
  • Identify and relay opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Receptive to change recommendations and if appropriate, incorporate into one's own framework(s).
  • Seek opportunities for personal development, to complement one's existing technical / professional skillset.

It is expected that you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong  Application knowledge:  Data Warehouse, Hadoop
  • Experience with SAS (SAS BI, SAS VA, SAS DI, SAS BASE)
  • Advanced SQL, Data Modelling & Analysis skills
  • Experience with Web & Reporting technologies Java/UI (preferred)
  • Experience with Cognos / Microstrategy (preferred)
  • Industry knowledge - Insurance data models and processes (3-5 years)
