Recovery Officer & Recovery Assistant

  • Based in Sydney CBD

Our National Recoveries Unit manages the recoveries aspect of our general insurance claims. We currently have 2 exciting opportunities for a Recovery Officer & a Recovery Assistant to join our Sydney team.

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for analysing, reviewing and managing a portfolio of motor claims recovery files with the aim of maximising Allianz's recovery income and resolving outstanding debts in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.

We are looking for both candidates with experience in Recoveries in addition to those with excellent customer service and administration experience looking to start a career in insurance.  

You will proactively communicate progress and likely outcomes to both internal and external customers. As an integral team member you will be responsible for providing administrative and claims management support to the National Recoveries Unit:

Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to negotiate and persuade
  • Excellent customer service ethic

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Debt recovery experience in a financial institution or the insurance industry
  • Working knowledge of the laws relating to debt collection, liability and insurance
  • Working knowledge of State legislation and the legal system
  • Working knowledge of general insurance products
  • Proven experience in an administrative or team support position
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a high attention to detail
