We are currently seeking a Team Leader to join our IT Division to lead a team in administering, managing and maintaining IT Security Systems.

The role will report into the IT Security Operations Manager and will be located in our brand new offices in North Sydney.

At Allianz our Information Technology (IT) Division is located in a state of the art activity based working environment. The design brings our IT employees together in a spacious North Sydney office and creates a central, sustainable working environment. The new workplace has been designed to promote collaboration, flexibility and efficiency providing employees the freedom and technology to move around to different workstations, collaboration spaces and meeting rooms.

The position comes with a diverse range of responsibilities and challenges, such as:

  • Advising business and IT units in all facets of Information Security, so as to facilitate compliance with the organisation's information security policy, business requirements and risk position.
  • Leading a team in administering, managing and maintaining IT security systems.
  • Coordinate, prioritise and plan tasks and manage work load across team members.
  • Perform line management duties for direct reports.
  • Act as a technical mentor for direct reports.
  • Ensure SLA's are met.
  • Act as the escalation point for the Sec Ops and IAM teams.
  • Be the conduit for the team for other (IT and business) stakeholders.
  • Provide SME input in change processes (Initiative and Projects) and support implementation.
  • Provide SME input in and support audits in security related processes.
  • Ensure team resilience by actively cross skilling team members on all functions.
  • Support management with requests for periodical and ad-hoc reports.
  • Actively support continuous process improvement and promote security ‎awareness to users.

To be considered for this role, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team
  • Good understanding of IT Security principles, standards and practices associated with networks, internet, email, operating systems, firewalls,VPN's, databases, virus management, intrusion detection, cryptography and e-commerce, with high level expertise/specialisation in several of these fields.
  • Ideally 5-10 years exposure to implementing and maintaining security solutions
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving  skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
