Allianz is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join our Finance division based in Sydney CBD on a Full Time Permanent basis.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, this position is primarily responsible for investment monitoring and reporting duties for predominantly Australian and New Zealand investment portfolios.  Over time it is expected that the role will grow to include various aspects of macroeconomic and financial market analysis, together with the monitoring and review of external investment managers.

The key skills & experience desired for this position are as follows:

  • 2-5 years of relevant corporate experience in a funds management environment, Portfolio Accounting, Investment Function, Performance Management or Investment Reporting role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Prepare daily asset allocation, cash flow and portfolio monitoring reports
  • Monthly preparation of Profit & Loss, balance sheet and performance reports to management and shareholders
  • Provide analysis of monthly results to management
  • Reconciliation of position holdings across systems
  • Prepare and analyse derivative reports
  • Analyse and report on the results of external investment managers
  • Monitor the Compliance of external mandates against guidelines
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field
  • A basic understanding of financial market instruments, particularly fixed income securities, would be advantageous
  • Confident in using Excel, particularly relating to financial functions and pivot tables
