Business Project Manager

The opportunity

This is an exciting new business opportunity to be part of a global program and develop a suite of retirement products new in the Australian market. The opportunity is to participate in developing a business from inception to full implementation within a fast paced, dynamic and agile global environment.

The role

We are seeking a Project Manager to manage a work stream and support the IT Program Manager deliver the overall program.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the local activities on this stream and ensuring the first release is organised for success.   This is a challenging role managing internal and external teams to establish the organisation and processes to deliver the website and supporting functions.    We're looking for a flexible, articulate and self-organised Project Manager who can quickly identify risks and obstacles, and then create innovative solutions to any problems.

You will have the opportunity to leverage your experience to effectively manage dependencies with the other streams and integration between suppliers.  This will require the plans developed to align across the project working with IT and will also need to align with business stakeholders to ensure the solution meets the business needs.  

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Manage overall stream in collaboration with the Business and IT Program Managers.
  • Work with managers of the functional areas to ensure alignment across the project and maintain a plan to ensure on time delivery
  • Manage activities as appropriate to the implementation of project related activities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and reporting documentation as necessary to ensure timely communication and successful delivery.
  • Ensure projects are planned and executed in-line with the business needs:

                           Risk and Issue identification and management
                           Management , planning and transition to live operation
                           Operational support plans and processes
                           Manage dependencies across project

Skills knowledge, qualifications required for job

  • At least 2 - 3 years project or Project management experience managing business initiatives within the financial services sector ideally within Wealth Management.
  • Experience managing website development and working with an external development partner
  • Effective at acquiring an understanding of a problem or situation, and developing an approach to resolve.
  • Proven strong ability to build positive relationships and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Solid planning and workshop facilitation skills to ensure the right outcomes
  • Adaptable to changing project needs on a global scale
  • Self-motivated and outcome driven and enjoys a fast paced environment
