Reporting to the Head of Risk and Underwriting, we are looking for a Risk Underwriter to join our growing Brisbane team.

The role will be crucial to the development of the Euler Hermes brand in Queensland and is part of a small local team, supported by a large global organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Decide credit limit requests consistently, within response time SLA, and communicate those decisions effectively.
  • Assessing businesses with all information available in Euler Hermes  proprietary systems and own market knowledge
  • Monitoring the portfolio risk profile and adjusting underwriting approach as required
  • Responsible for a dedicated customer portfolio, steering the portfolio and providing pro-active service
  • Organizing regular meetings with customers and brokers
  • Initiating and implementing new means to add value to broker and customer interactions
  • Supporting the Euler Hermes  Commercial team in steering customers' loss ratio and implementing necessary actions to ensure profitability of the portfolio

To be considered for this role you will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a credit risk or relationship manager position with delegated risk authority.
  • Candidates with relationship management experience for a bank, insurer or financial institution will be well regarded.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, finance or economics are not essential, but preferred.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to provide constructive feedback to others
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms, particularly in explaining risk decisions
