Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manger to join the team and provide professional contract management and commercial advice, ensuring that the appropriate terms and conditions and arrangements are in place for effective contract management with both internal and external service providers.

The role will also be responsible for:

  • Leading the commercial and contract management function within the overall program (including partnership with internal local and global stakeholders). 
  • Providing guidance to procurement and contract management in relation to major and complex procurement activities.
  • Working proactively with all levels of management to determine commercial requirements to achieve project delivery through identification of most effective strategy.
  • Providing sound and practical advice to all project workstreams on required commercial outcomes on all contract management activity and local legislative requirements.
  • Working with procurement on implementing contract management principles, standards and processes to users across the new business as required. 
  • Lead negotiation activity to support the best commercial outcomes by effectively providing a negotiation strategy to support the procurement and contract needs where appropriate.
  • Supporting the development of sound collaborative relationships with key vendors, maintaining and ensuring a robust system of administration of contractual relationships to deliver quality and value
  • Supporting contract risk analysis and alerting the organisation to potential, or known, problems that affect the quality of the new business contractual services.

The success candidate will have:

  • 5 -7 years' experience within the financial services sector with deep knowledge of outsourcing requirements and experience developing KRI's and processes for managing strategic providers.
  • An excellent understanding of the financial requirements and outcomes of procurement and contract management. Strong project management skills which underpin the timely development of strategies, projects and programs and assist in cross functional collaboration.
  • Proven strong ability to build positive relationships and consult, negotiate and communicate with all levels of management and staff, government agencies, stakeholders and the community, both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective at acquiring an understanding of a problem or situation, and developing an approach to interacting with the situation.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
