Manager - Consumer and Market Insight

Allianz is looking for Consumer and Market Insights Manager to join our Market Management division based in the Sydney CBD on a Full Time Permanent basis. You will play a key role in understanding Allianz's research needs and recommending changes to improve our business for our customers.

This role is suited to an experienced researcher who has at least 10 years' experience in the Consumer & Market Insights industry, preferably gained from both the agency and client sides, demonstrating a solid knowledge in research methodologies and good stakeholder management skills. You will manage a team, identify opportunities, and maximise the value of the research budget by staying on top of new research techniques, trends and vendor strengths & weaknesses.

This will include the following responsibilities:-

  • Effectively manage a team of researchers to manage projects and liaise with vendors from start to finish, with minimal supervision
  • Be the go-to-person for research expertise and understanding customers.
  • Source data in order to undertake consumer, customer, market and competitor and industry analysis. Extract relevant information from reports and research analysis to document insights and recommendations to the business.
  • Derive quality insights and recommend actions that support customer engagement and profitable growth.
  • Collaborate with other teams and support the implementation of customer-centric initiatives, and sharing insights across the organisation.
  • Manage the research budget and maximize value from research spend.
  • Identify companywide research requirements and create proposals for new research projects.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you will possess:

  • At least 10 years of experience, preferably from both the research agency and client side
  • Excellent project management and collaboration skills and attention to detail
  • Segmentation development experience and have applied segmentation models successfully
  • Experience in managing complex quantitative projects and expert knowledge in quantitative methodologies e.g. choice-modelling, driver analysis, MaxDiff
  • Hands-on experience in conducting qualitative research e.g., focus groups, in-depth interviews
  • Experience in Voice of Customer programs is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills as well as presentation & insight/opportunity creation skills
  • Demonstrated people management capability
  • Tertiary qualifications in a marketing, research, consumer behaviour or research field
  • Advanced degree is highly desirable (Master, PhD, MBA, etc.)
