An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategy Advisor to be appointed within our Strategy and Transformation team, located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategy, this role will be responsible for researching markets and competitors, managing financial analysis and preparation of presentations and reports which contribute towards the development of strategies across Allianz Australia.

This role also supports the strategic planning process and provides assistance to the General Manager Strategy and Transformation and other senior members of the team.

The successful applicant will deliver the following role objectives:

  • Build and maintain market intelligence capability and synthesise market, competitor, macro-economic and Allianz information to ensure the Strategy team and its stakeholders are informed of market and competitor developments
  • Support business projects around strategy work linked to business objectives, including data cleansing, research and developing content and presentations.
  • Provide support to the General Manager Strategy and Transformation and the wider Strategy team, around adhoc tasks including the preparation of Senior Management team meetings and off-site functions.
  • Assist with support during the annual strategic planning process, including quality review/ control, consolidating business unit and divisional input and enabling production of output.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies for Allianz on a business unit, divisional and overall corporate level including the creation of fact packs, opportunity maps and the assessment of strategic options.

 About You:

  • Experience gained from working within a top management consulting firm or an in-house strategy team would be highly regarded
  • Experience working within a Strategy support role with a General Insurance organisation or within Financial Services
  • The ability to take ownership of all elements of the project lifecycle
  • Exceptional structured problem solving methodology and analytical capability and the ability to deliver large scale strategic projects.
  • Demonstrated ability around strategic and financial analysis skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Business and Finance - Bachelor Degree in a relevant field, Master of Commerce or MBA would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working in a previous role with strategy frameworks and tools
  • Experience with corporate planning and providing advice to senior management
  • Highly tuned stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with developing and reviewing strategies in complex multi-layered organisations
  • Collaborative approach and proactivity for team building, practice development and working closely with the business
