Senior Manager, Data Analytics | Sydney NSW (preferred)


The primary purpose of this role is to lead and execute the timely delivery of data analytics within audits and to contribute to providing assurance, data insights and visualisations to challenge the business, thereby helping to protect and maintain the business within the Board set risk appetite.


 You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and executing on time and high-quality data analytics within planned audits.
  • Accessing, assessing and understanding data sources across the business areas under review.
  • Producing high quality, value adding data analytics, visualisations and data insights and presenting findings to senior management and the Chief Audit Executive.
  • Leading the identification and implementation of opportunities for improvements to data analytics effectiveness.
  • Building and maintaining high quality relationships with business stakeholders including communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

 Important to your success:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant accreditations (IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or equivalent field(s)).
  • Demonstrated technical experience in SQL, SAS, R, Python or other programming languages.
  • Demonstrated experience in extracting and analysing data from complex data sets and systems.
  • Experience in audit / risk management gained in a complex, insurance / financial services or major consulting organisation.
  • Creative and courageous in solving problems and suggesting and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the three lines of defence model and of the strategic business context with the ability to review processes and apply rules-based analytics and data driven analytics.
  • Understanding of the IT and data landscape and virtual processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating analytic results with clarity, impact and influence.
