We have a great opportunity for a Commercial Underwriter - to join Policy Operations. This role is to underwrite business in accordance with company Underwriting Guidelines, Legislation and within delegated authority limits, and to provide ongoing support and development across Policy Operations.  The job holder will provide a high level of customer service and build & maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, while working within Service Level Agreements.

In this role, you will be developing relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders and creating a knowledge sharing foundation for all underwriters in the department.

As a Commercial Underwriter –you will be:

  • Case underwrite, assess risk on an individual basis, engage in new business, endorsement and renewal management
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external
  • Prioritising and  monitoring tasks and be flexible as needs change to ensure completion within stakeholders requirements
  • Actively participating and supporting the team environment
  • Ensuring you are demonstrating the Allianz Leadership values and Customer Experience Principles
  • Participating in underwriting reviews and audits and ensuring development and knowledge sharing goals are achieved and correctly undertaken

Suitable candidates will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Extensive underwriting experience in Commercial Packages, Property, Motor or Liability
  • Experience dealing with large complex risks
  • Working knowledge of relevant Insurance Acts and Codes
  • Ability to train, develop and create learning content
  • Ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a customer focused work ethic
  • Intermediate PC skills (Lotus Notes, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with SCTP would be desirable
