We have an opportunity for a business analysis manager to join the team on a temporary full time basis (12 months), reporting directly to the General Manager VIC Workers' Compensation. In this role you will use your analytical and enquiring mind to deliver reporting and analysis that helps drive the strategic directions of the VIC Workers' Compensation team.

As a Business Analysis Manager, you will be required to:

  • Proactively analysis and identify areas of opportunity to drive financial outcomes.
  • Build trust and rapport with the senior management team, government regulator and clients so you can influence strategies.
  • Use your analytical mind to understand the key performance metrics and make recommendations to the business and regulator on improvements.
  • Drive the analytical team to produce dashboard style reporting and report data in a meaningful way.
  • Create dynamic targets and goals for different levels of the business to drive the right behaviours.
  • Coach the senior management team and team leader group to understand the financial drivers for the business.
  • Support the budget setting process through forecasting results and targets.
  • As part of the senior management team promote the staff engagement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use statistical methods to report trends
  • Proactive and creative in coming up with solutions to business problems
  • An ability to identify areas of improvement within the business, and support change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex arguments and calculations to different levels of the business
  • At least 2yrs experience working in a similar claims environment role
  • Proven ability to write data manipulation code (SQL, SAS or VBA)
  • Proven ability to present data in a meaningful way
  • Qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics or similar will be highly regarded as favourable.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of workers' compensation in VIC will be viewed favourably.
