We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys build strong working relationships across Finance and business stakeholders in all aspects of their work. The ideal candidate will be innovative in their approach in order to effectively fulfil our statutory reporting and financial control obligations. You will be part of a high performing and collaborative team reporting to the Manager, Statutory Reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing month end close processes for Allianz Australia's operations including our subsidiaries
  • Opportunity to take the lead focus on our life insurance business including the preparation and presentation of management accounts to the Life leadership team, performing investment accounting reconciliation processes as well as financial information uploads to Allianz SE Group.
  • Preparation of quarterly and year end reporting for Allianz Australia's operations, including APRA returns and ASIC financial statements.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to support the annual planning process
  • Assisting the Manager, Statutory Reporting with ad hoc projects such as reviews of distribution agreements and implementation of new systems and processes in response to accounting standards changes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 4 years' experience in insurance in a financial accounting or statutory reporting role.
  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Exposure and experience within life insurance would be advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your work.
  • A positive, proactive and resilient attitude to embrace change and innovation in our fast changing environment.
