Our Policy Services  division delivers a market leading customer experience by providing expert, professional underwriting, policy service for direct customers, Broker & Agents, Financial Institutions, Motor Dealers and other business partners. This involves providing professional, efficient underwriting service, processing support and credit management to Allianz business partners and their customers. Our three centres deliver these services for Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and CTP products.

This is a rare opportunity to lead our insurance Policy Operations and Credit control activities. This is a senior and highly visible role assuming national responsibility for delivering consistency and exceptional customer service to our partners, brokers and customers.  You will report to our General Manager Customer & Partner Services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership responsibility of a large team of approximately 130 employees
  • Ensuring that employees are developed and the appropriate succession planning is in place
  • Operational effectiveness – identify, implement and manage business improvement opportunities
  • Expense management – oversight of a large expense budget annually and ensuring cost controls are in place.
  • Maximising financial performance – ensuring that optimal pricing is met through underwriting guidelines and credit teams are meeting collection KPI's.
  • Business Planning – assisting the General Manager with the development and implementation of the business plan
  • Operational expense management – assisting the General Manager with oversight of management expense to ensure cost control and proper investment.
  • Stakeholder management – build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including Sales & Distribution, Claims and external customers, brokers and partners.  


You will have a proven ability to:

  • Lead large operational service teams
  • Expert skills in motivating and driving large teams of people
  • Drive outcomes through the use of KPI's
  • Implement standard process and procedures
  • Identify opportunity to improve processes and operational procedures
  • Superior skills in building relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Expert in verbal communication including writing and reporting


To be successful in this role you will have a depth of experience in leading large teams to targets and service level agreements.  In addition to this you will possess demonstrated experience in the delivery of business improvements and efficiencies.  

Operational management experience leading large teams is essential. Relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desired.
