Strategic Injury Management Advisor

Our Workers Compensation team in Melbourne are seeking a Strategic Injury Management Advisor (specialising in the management of mental injuries) for an exciting new position.

You will be an integral member of the long tail claims management team (the team manage claims >52 weeks and beyond) providing expert and strategic case management advice, aiming to support workers with mental injuries in returning to health and in returning to work. Your responsibilities will include the development of a case management model that will engender supportive relationships with injured workers whilst delivering improved return to work outcomes, through quality of service and goal oriented case management strategies. This will include providing hands on support to our case managers in meeting their case management objectives and developing their capability in the management of mental injury claims. This role will also include the management of any internal / external projects that are aligned to the management of long tail mental injury claims. 

We work in an exciting, past faced and changing environment that provides the opportunity to influence and work with a wide range of case management staff, injured workers, employers, members of the medical profession, occupational rehabilitation providers, WorkSafe and other external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Qualifications in Psychology / Psychiatry;

· Experience in case management (preferably within a workers compensation scheme)

· The ability to be able to motivate individuals and negotiate for outcomes

· Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills (including mentoring and coaching);

· Customer service and time management skills;

· Sound Microsoft skills and ability to learn new systems;
