The primary purpose of this role is to support the end-to-end management of applications at AAL, including new development, enhancements and maintenance, to ensure that it meets the customer's requirements and aligns with AAL architecture, methodologies and standards.

You'll be directly improving our customer's lives and well-being. You'll deal with people experiencing challenging times, but your job is to deliver a positive customer experience for them - and this is what makes it highly rewarding. As someone who builds excellent relationships, you'll help individuals, engaging with them and their workplace on the steps involved in their claim. Along the way, you'll educate our customers on what will happen at every stage and support them with anything they will need to know about their claim.

 You'll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with other members of the team to develop software that meets the functional and non-functional requirements of business
  • Ensuring a positive customer experience by delivering excellence in products, services and behaviors
  • Ensuring that adequate supporting documentation is prepared for software code in line with AAL requirements and standards.
  • Logging time and effort within appropriate systems as required to support with accurate forecasting and allocation of work within the team.
  • Undertaking production support and maintenance activities for relevant applications and systems to ensure minimal disruption to business users. 

Important to your success:     

  • Experience in programming and application design in relevant technology within a large complex IT   Landscape
  • Experience in the development and support of large scale corporate applications and compliance with structured (waterfall and agile) development processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with relevant technology and applications such as  Java, BPM, Lotus Notes, KoFax 
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and   demands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
  • Highly developed 'first principles' problem-solving skills, combined with a curious and creative mind-set.
