Reporting into the Senior Compliance Manager, the Risk & Compliance Manager with a Compliance focus is responsible for supporting the business in implementing an effective Line 1 compliance plan across the Consumer Credit Insurance and Life business unit.   As a genuine partner to the business, the role plays a pivotal part in advising management to ensure operational compliance obligations are appropriately identified, assessed and managed by business. 

You'll be responsible for: 

  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and increase awareness of regulatory and compliance obligations acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Contribute to the strengthening of governance and the compliance framework. Support the implementation and monitoring of the compliance plans.
  • Support the implementation and promotion of corporate compliance and policies.
  • Support the development of business solutions for incoming regulatory changes.
  • Guide management in developing action plans to address breaches.
  • Contribute to the development of compliance specific KRIs/metrics.
  • Monitor the reporting of incident management and provide remediation support. 

Important to your success:

  • Significant experience in a compliance or legal role for a complex, matrixed general insurance / financial services organisation or consultancy firm.  Experience within CCI/Life Insurance would be a great benefit.
  • Proven understanding of laws, legislations, regulations and prudential standards which may affect a general insurer. 
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills, combined with a curious and creative mind-set.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
