Senior Manager, Dealer Network – Technical Division | Location is flexible

This role sits within our Technical Division which is responsible for pricing, portfolio management, reinsurance and underwriting services. We support the distribution functions through the improvement of the product and pricing framework for all of the Allianz General Insurance portfolios.

The Senior Manager, Dealer Network will report to the GM for Commercial Products & Portfolios and will be asked to define and execute a clear vision and strategy for the insurance program of the Motor Dealer Network.

You'll be expected to:

  • Lead Portfolio Steering Groups for the Dealer Network client base.
  • Drive and monitor technical and financial results of the designated portfolio.
  • Set underwriting guidelines and risk appetites for the Dealer Network ensuring alignment with the Property, Casualty and Motor Fleet portfolios.
  • Implement and govern products within the Dealer Network ensuring alignment with the Property, Casualty and Motor Fleet portfolios.
  • Facilitate the business planning process, based on key strategic issues and drivers for the Dealer Network.
  • Review portfolio results and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of business reporting.

Important to your success:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline supported by relevant insurance industry qualifications/ accreditations.
  • Extensive commercial risk product or portfolio leadership and/or underwriting experience for a general insurance organisation.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of product/portfolio development and or working with multiple teams to align strategy with organisational vision and in translating vision to action to achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish budgets, manage expenses to budget and to develop a portfolio management plan.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of governance requirements and frameworks as well as portfolio sensitive legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and coaching cross-divisional teams.
  • Proven ability to articulate a customer centric culture and exemplify behaviours at all levels of the organisation.
  • Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.

Whilst this role would ideally be performed out of the Sydney Head Office, there is scope for the right person to operate out of another location.
