Technical Specialist - Workers Compensation

Do you want to work in a high-trust culture where you'll feel empowered to make decisions that result in impact? As a Technical Specialist in our Workers Compensation team you will provide expert guidance to our Claims teams to develop their knowledge and contribute to develop and improving strategies.

It will be your responsibility to:

  • Work with the Injury Management Specialist and Team Leader to provide continuous support to the team
  • Understand the outcome measures and remuneration model
  • Provide assistance with developing technical/claims management strategies by empowering staff to develop their case management skills through coaching and role modelling
  • Attend claims reviews with the team
  • Ensure compliance against legislative time frames and conduct monthly Quality Assurance reviews
  • Ensure clear finalisation strategies are in place for claims within the team's portfolio, and that claims are finalised appropriately
  • Negotiate with stakeholders (e.g brokers and employers) as appropriate and try to achieve and improve outcomes

You will bring an ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders across our business divisions. You are known for your strong analytical skills and business focused solutions.  In addition you will be valued for;

  • A deep understanding of technical and professional knowledge of the NSW Workers Compensation legislation and guidelines
  • Experience in either Workers' Compensation, disability or personal injury management
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities and analytical skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring others
