Our Technical Division is responsible for pricing, portfolio management, reinsurance and underwriting services. We support our distribution and other key stakeholder functions through improvement of the product and pricing framework for all of the Allianz General Insurance portfolios.

As the Casualty Product Manager, you will manage and grow profitability in liability and professional lines in a highly competitive market. You will be ensuring that our products meet external regulatory requirements in an environment of uncertainty and change as well as sustaining ongoing product development whilst still maintaining a product that is sold across a wide range of distribution channels.

In this varied, fast paced and challenging role, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting and implementing product strategy and risk appetite whilst consulting to the Reinsurance team about reinsurance requirements;
  • Development and maintenance of policy wordings, including technical design and intent of policy coverage, whilst determining and monitoring pricing adequacy and risk quality;
  • Research of market and customer needs, in conjunction with internal / external stakeholders;
  • Developing and driving actions to address variances between actual to expected performance;
  • Ensuring policy schedules and other Allianz-owned external documentation specific to area of responsibility are compliant with regulatory requirements and Allianz standards;
  • Overseeing the issue of underwriting licences (authority) across the respective lines of business and the approval of schemes and exceptional referrals, such as Treaty Special Acceptances and UW Agency referrals;
  • Quality assurance through Technical Underwriting Reviews, Peer Reviews and Post Loss Reviews;
  • Development of technical capability through training (in conjunction with Distribution stakeholders), effective management of underwriting systems and / or rating tools.

Your skills

  • Proven success in the management and development of Liability or Professional Indemnity (ideally both) products;
  • Data analysis knowledge is required  as you'll be leading a cross-functional team;
  • Expertise in managing multiple activities and working in a fast paced environment;
  • The ability to communicate and work collaboratively with diverse team members with the capability to present to diverse audiences;
  • An ability to operate at a strategic level, analyse market conditions and maintain an entrepreneurial outlook.
  • Proactively develops the talent in their area; co-constructing performance goals, objectives and development plans, and providing ongoing constructive performance feedback
