National Recoveries Unit - Technical Lead

Our Claims divisions are integral to the organisation as they assist our customers in their moment of need. Claims services delivers a market leading customer experience by providing expert claims service for direct customers, Broker & Agents, Financial Institutions, Motor Dealers and other business partners.

An opportunity exists for a technically minded professional to join our National Recovery Unit. Working closely with the Technical Development Manager - Recoveries and Team Manager, you will play an important role in enhancing the unit's customer service and cost effective claims management delivery.

As Technical Lead you will act as a referral point for the National Recovery Unit staff, assisting them in building on their recovery knowledge and acting as an escalation point for disputes. In addition, you will support the National Recoveries Unit with claims auditing to ensure our recovery files are actioned in a timely and cost effective manner.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong claim recovery handling experience managing core and/or complex claims - preferably motor
  • Demonstrate strong communication and time management skills
  • Complete monthly File Quality Reviews (FQR) and delivery of results to individuals
  • Deliver identified improvement opportunities to Team Mangers.
  • Provide effective and professional feedback ensuring identified knowledge gaps are highlighted
  • Understand the Dispute Resolution process, review and respond to AFCA referrals
  • Possess knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act, Insurance & Brokers Act, ASIC Debt Collection Guidelines and the Code of Practice,
  • Possess ANZIIF qualifications (or industry equivalent) - Desirable
