Team Leader - Workers Compensation Claims

What to expect

The Underwritten Workers Compensation and Distribution business is responsible for the underwriting, sales and claims management of workers compensation policies in the risk states (NT, WA, TAS, ACT and Seafarers).

Our National Claims Team provides support to employers and our claims branches across Australia, managing claims in these jurisdictions as well as managing claims for Self-Insured clients, Excess of Loss, Reinsurance and Dust Disease liabilities.

About the role

An exciting new opportunity has been created within our National Claims Team, to lead a team of high performing Senior Claim Professionals working across multiple jurisdictions and product lines.

As a Team Leader, you will provide agile leadership to maximise team performance in achieving financial and divisional objectives, delivering superior customer service while ensuring our compliance requirements are met.

‎Your knowledge of Workers Compensation, effective leadership and customer ‎‎‎‎service ‎‎skills are essential, coupled with your interpersonal and conflict resolution ‎‎‎‎skills.

We're looking for talent who have ‎

  • Demonstrated leadership / people management ability
  • A genuine desire to coach and develop staff
  • Solid and proven Workers Compensation claims experience
  • Skills working with people
  • An energetic and motivated approach
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong technical knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of portfolio management concepts
  • Flexibility and an eagerness to learn and develop
  • Excellent organisational, planning and problem solving skills
  • High level computer skills
