Allianz Australia is looking to engage a Java Senior Analyst Programmer to sit within our IT Application Development team based in our new state-of-the-art offices in North Sydney.

The successful candidate will deliver high quality application software solutions that meet Business Users requirements through the following role objectives and deliverables:

  • Deliver high quality application software solutions that meets Business Users requirements by:
  • Leading design, estimation and execution of J2EE development activities
  • Working with Project Managers to ensure their scheduling and financial requirements are met
  • Working with Business Analysts & System Testers to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are me
  • Working with Infrastructure & Operations team to ensure effective development processes and effective execution of software in production environments
  • Ensure code modules are tested and automation is in place for deployment, QA and production monitoring

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

Essential:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to effectively liaise with and influence diverse stakeholder groups across both the Business and IT.
  • 5+ years java development (Spring, Spring MVC, J2EE), Web services (SOAP, XML, JSON,  REST),  Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular), ORM (Hibernate, JPA)
  • Deep understanding of Service Orientated Architecture techniques and technologies
  • Understanding of one or more automated deployment and testing tools (eg shell script, slenium)
  • 5+ years message modelling and mapping skills (OO design, UML, domain modelling)
  • Design and estimation of large corporate systems
  • Thorough knowledge of continuous integration development practices (Jenkins/Bamboo, Subversion/GIT, Maven)
  • ‎5+ years' experience with structured ‎‎(Iterative or Agile Scrum) SDLC processes

Desirable:

  • Tomcat, Spring Boot, IBM Websphere, IntelliJ IDE, DB2, IBM MQ
  • AngularJS, JavaScript, Kendo, JQuery, HTML 5, CSS, Twitter Bootstrap
  • An understanding of policy / claims lifecycle ideally within Insurance
