Allianz is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our high performing capital management team. The role is based in Sydney CBD & will commence on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will support the team in carrying out a range of activities related to advising the business on capital and risk related decisions.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Execution of capital model runs, validation and communication of results
  • Performing efficiency and methodology enhancements to the capital model
  • Analytical support of the team's evaluation of capital impacts of various strategic business decisions
  • Modelling of working, large and catastrophe claims across all underwritten product classes
  • Operation of Economic Scenario Generator model in support of capital modelling activities
  • Allocation of capital to product classes for performance measurement and pricing.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders such as actuaries, accountants, product managers and external consultants.

The key skills & experience desired for this position are as follows:-

  • 3-7 years of relevant corporate experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Mathematics/Statistics, Commerce or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proactive and ability to take the initiative 
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to prioritise, and work collaboratively to tight deadlines
  • Previous exposure to accounting principles and understanding of the general insurance industry and products would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel
